Just this weekend, respected New York Times journalist Farhad Manjoo wrote <\/span>an article<\/span><\/a> about traveling in a Cadillac Escalade embedded with <\/span>Super Cruise<\/span><\/a>, driver-assist technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

It erroneously stated that by deploying the technology, a driver could \u201ctwiddle your toes and put your hands in the air like you just don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As well as being cringe-inducing, the article is littered with phrases and descriptions of Manjoo\u2019s behavior while driving that show a fundamental lack of understanding of the abilities of driver-assist technology and what it requires of the driver.<\/span><\/p>\n

A new name for the Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets<\/strong><\/h2>\n

And it comes just in the week that the Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets rebranded itself as the <\/span>Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association<\/span><\/a> (AVIA).<\/span><\/p>\n
