Last night, Twitter<\/a> announced it\u2019ll allow users to tip accounts via Ethereum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is the social network\u2019s second crypto announcement in two months, after it enabled NFT-based profile pictures<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n

These developments have come after Jack Dorsey stepped down as the company\u2019s CEO last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a staunch Bitcoin supporter, Twitter\u2019s new direction in cryptocurrencies<\/a> might have annoyed him \u2014 especially as both announcements are related to Ethereum, a currency he appears dismissive of.<\/span><\/p>\n

When considering all this, we had one important question<\/span>: just how annoyed will Jack Dorsey be?<\/span><\/p>\n

The Twitter co-founder has been public about his \u2018loyalty\u2019 towards Bitcoin<\/a>. He\u2019s been experimenting<\/a> with the digital currency<\/a> at his payment startup Square for some time now.<\/p>\n

In a 2019 interview with TNW, Dorsey outlined a need for \u201ca native internet currency.<\/a>\u201d At that time, he wanted Square to take an active part in developing the cryptocurrency ecosystem.<\/p>\n
