If all I know is that I don\u2019t know anything<\/a>, that means I actually know loads.<\/p>\n

Let me illustrate. I\u2019ve been on iOS since the iPhone 4, meaning I\u2019ve been using Apple\u2019s<\/a> mobile devices for around 12 years. On top of that, I\u2019ve been covering and analyzing<\/a> the company as part of my actual job <\/em>for a long old while.<\/p>\n

Yet, I was today years old when I realized<\/a> that you can select all your text while typing by tapping your iPhone screen three times.<\/p>\n

Truly, the breadth of my lack of knowledge is breathtaking.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/a>This is me tapping the input section to select all the text on iOS. BOW BEFORE IT.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I\u2019m not entirely sure what else to tell you here. All you need to do is triple tap on the section you\u2019re typing in and the text will be magically selected.<\/p>\n

The only caveat is the shortcut won\u2019t select all<\/em> the text, instead it\u2019ll highlight the paragraph you\u2019re on. But, let\u2019s be honest, who genuinely sends multi-paragraph messages?<\/p>\n

While this hole in my knowledge rocked me (and maybe you to the core), I\u2019ve found there are two main ways one generally reacts to situations like these.<\/p>\n

The first is defensive. This is where you tell yourself that it\u2019s fine, that you\u2019d never use this shortcut anyway, and the only reason you didn\u2019t know it is because you don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the second (and correct) way: accepting it with open joyfulness.<\/p>\n

If you go through life believing that you know anything<\/em> about even the things you\u2019ve spent years studying, you\u2019re bound to become resentful and bitter. Instead, find glee in discovery.<\/p>\n

So, friends, if you didn\u2019t know this tip, go forth and triple tap on text in iOS. Select it, select it all, leave no word un-highlighted, for you are now the master of formatting.<\/p>\n
