That\u2019s despite ASML\u2019s entanglement in an escalating <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/chip-wars-escalating-between-eu-us-and-china-for-tech-supremacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chip war<\/a> between the US and China, which has led to <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/us-china-chip-war-dutch-semiconductor-giant-asml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">export restrictions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest measures, which came into effect in January, prohibit ASML from selling certain deep ultraviolet lithography (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asml.com\/en\/products\/duv-lithography-systems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DUV<\/a>) machines (the ones behind the production of less advanced chips) to China.<\/p>\n<p>AMSL expects that the restrictions will impact approximately 15% of sales in China. Sales in the first quarter of this year were down <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/20240417085025\/https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-04-17\/asml-orders-miss-estimates-as-demand-for-advanced-machines-slips#selection-3243.152-3243.251\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u20ac300mn<\/a> compared to the previous quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The Dutchtech giant&nbsp;forecasts global net sales between \u20ac5.7bn and \u20ac6.2bn for the second quarter.
