They will be the first-ever science satellites that provide data directly to researchers via a membership model, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>The approach offers a new route to&nbsp;the secrets of our universe. Currently, researchers rely on government agencies such as NASA and ESA to access space data. Unfortunately, this supply doesn\u2019t meet the demand.<\/p>\n<p>The James Webb Telescope, for instance, received 1,600 requests for observing time. Only of them 249 were selected. The startup will offer customers the choice of either an annual membership or hourly access to the data.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOur vision is not only to deliver great science, but to deliver it to any scientist around the world,\u201d Dr Marcell Tessenyi, CEO and co-founder of&nbsp;<span class=\"il\">Blue<\/span>&nbsp;<span class=\"il\">Skies<\/span>&nbsp;<span class=\"il\">Space<\/span>, told TNW.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The first<span><span class=\"il\">&nbsp;satellites<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>The programme\u2019s first satellite<\/span> in the programme is named Mauve. Built to measure the activity of nearby stars, Mauve is slated to launch in early 2025. By probing the satellite\u2019s data, scientists could find evidence that exoplanets harbour life.<\/p>\n<p>After sending Mauve into the cosmos, Blue Skies Space intends to launch an entire fleet of satellites.<\/p>\n<p>The new funding brings the plans closer to reality. It include contributions from <span>Japan\u2019s&nbsp;<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/sparxsif.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/sparxsif.com\/en\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713958346539000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0M1G7wQ0HzctaY6ajbSBhF\">SPARX<\/a><\/span><span>&nbsp;<span class=\"il\">Space<\/span>&nbsp;Frontier Fund and UK see-stage investor <a href=\"https:\/\/sfccapital.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/sfccapital.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1713958346539000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1nHH0348uTd_s25SPbEmKM\">SFC Capital<\/a>.
