Offer ends April 29.<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/new-laws-to-protect-consumers-from-cyber-criminals-come-into-force-in-the-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to<\/a> consumer organisation Which?, a home with multiple smart devices could be exposed to over 12,000 hacking attacks in a single week.<\/p>\n<p>The government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/new-laws-to-protect-consumers-from-cyber-criminals-come-into-force-in-the-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">estimates<\/a> that UK households own nine connected devices on average. It hopes that the move will not only strengthen cybercrime resilience, but also increase consumer confidence in such products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs everyday life becomes increasingly dependent on connected devices, the threats generated by the internet multiply and become even greater,\u201d Minister for Cyber Viscount Camrose said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Cybercrime costs the UK approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/media\/5a78e882e5274a2acd18ab84\/THE-COST-OF-CYBER-CRIME-SUMMARY-FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a327bn<\/a> per year.
