Elon Musk is having a rough week. His daughter has denounced him<\/a> as a fake Christian, an absent father, and a serial adulterer. He\u2019s been in court<\/a> to fight a custody battle. His ex-partner Grimes said he \u201c\u2018cannot distinguish the truth.\u201d And that\u2019s just his personal life.<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s businesses are also under fire. Tesla stock has plummeted. X has repelled so many advertisers that Musk has sued<\/a> them over an alleged \u201cillegal boycott.\u201d Politicians have accused<\/a> the platform of fuelling race riots.<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s also been slammed for claiming \u201ccivil war is inevitable\u201d in Britain. But his next battle could come from across the Irish Sea.<\/p>\n

The Emerald Isle has targeted two controversies at X. One is the torrent of bigotry, lies, and fallacies that\u2019s flooding the platform.<\/p>\n

Irish lawmakers have proposed a solution: hold social media<\/a> executives personally accountable.<\/p>\n

Irish troubles for X<\/h2>\n

Ireland wants to become a global leader in tackling harmful online content.<\/p>\n

Its new prime minister, Simon Harris, said Ireland was \u201cahead of many, many other European countries\u201d in dealing with the problem.<\/p>\n

By the end of this year, Harris plans to enforce binding codes enforced with fines. He also pledged this<\/a> week to make directors \u201cpersonally responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s just the start of Musk\u2019s troubles in Ireland. The country\u2019s lawmakers have also targeted X\u2019s Grok chatbot.<\/p>\n

As TNW previously reported<\/a>, X has been training Grok on users\u2019 data without notifying them. Privacy groups believe this breaks EU laws.<\/p>\n

Ireland\u2019s Data Protection Commission (DPC) has taken the matter to court.<\/p>\n

The commission claims<\/a> that X has violated the EU\u2019s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).<\/p>\n

The DPC is also concerned about the data<\/a> entering the next X bot. Musk plans to release Grok 2 this month.<\/span><\/p>\n

X has reportedly refused the commission\u2019s requests to postpone the launch or cease the data processing. The proceedings will return to the court within days.<\/p>\n

That could create another tumultuous week for Elon. But at least next week he has something to look forward to on Monday: Donald Trump has promised<\/a> to give him an interview.<\/p>\n
