Tech Nation has announced the 25 startups<\/a> that will participate in the second cohort of this year\u2019s Future Fifty programme \u2014 the UK\u2019s only accelerator that focuses on late-stage companies.<\/p>\n

Future Fifty supports startups from the Series B to the IPO stage and beyond. Since its launch in 2013, it counts alumni such as Revolut<\/a>, Monzo<\/a>, and Skyscanner.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe use mechanisms of access and growth instead of learning and validation,\u201d Johnny Mayo, programme lead of Future Fifty told TNW.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason for this is our companies typically already have proven product market fit, and our founders will often already have coaches or mentors who have helped them reach this level.\u201d<\/p>\n

To be eligible for the programme, participants must meet a series of criteria, starting with having UK-based headquarters and a digital\/tech<\/a>-enabled business.<\/span> They also need to be generating \u00a35mn revenue per year or experiencing 50% YoY growth. And they need to have successfully raised Series B funding.<\/p>\n

The selected startups in this year\u2019s second cohort have collectively raised almost \u00a31.2bn and employ over 2,500 staff. They\u2019re active in various tech sectors, including healthtech, biotech, energy, quantum, and fintech.<\/p>\n

According to Mayo, the accelerator\u2019s approach is strongly experiential.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we do have mentors, coaches, and even therapists, they are a small element of the programme,\u201d Mayo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main value add (beyond the prestige and recognition) is building networks of peers and mentors not so much around founders and CEOs, but instead their C-suite.\u201d<\/p>\n
