The software is designed to modernise existing military vehicles through AI, sensor systems, and autonomous driving capabilities. The largest carries military payloads weighing up to 500kg \u2014 including injured soldiers \u2014 across the battlefield.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The robots are modular, built using off-the-shelf components made in Europe. They\u2019re designed so soldiers can fix them on the battlefield within minutes, without tools. The vehicles move around autonomously, but military personnel can also control them remotely from a tablet.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Rise of defence tech<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span>The armed forces of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and the UK have already conducted field tests of ARX\u2019s technology. In February, the company delivered 30 of its war bots to Ukrainian Armed Forces units engaged in active combat. The European Defence Agency (EDA) also recently contracted ARX to participate in the first EU-wide defence innovation initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cARX Robotics has fielded the largest Western UGV fleet to Ukraine and we look forward to continuing to support the company as it expands its reach across NATO nations,\u201d said Chris O\u2019Connor, partner at NATO Innovation Fund.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>HV Capital was the leading investor in the company\u2019s new Series A funding round. Omnes Capital and existing investors NATO Innovation Fund and Project A also chipped in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>ARX\u2019s raise comes amid substantial increases in European defence spending in recent months.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In March 2025, EU leaders<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/mar\/06\/watershed-moment-eu-leaders-close-to-agreeing-800bn-defence-plan-ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span>endorsed<\/span><\/a> <span>the \u201cReArm Europe\u201d plan, aiming to mobilise up to \u00a3683bn (\u20ac800bn) over the next four years to enhance military capabilities.
