It raised \u20ac600mn in a Series D round led by General Catalyst \u2014 a huge endorsement for Europe\u2019s rapidly growing defence tech sector. The deal brought Helsing\u2019s valuation to \u20ac12bn, making it <\/span>one of the continent\u2019s most valuable private companies<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Isomorphic Labs \u2014 \u20ac508M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> London, UK<\/span><\/p>\n

A DeepMind spinout using AI to model molecular biology, Isomorphic Labs aims to dramatically speed up drug discovery. It raised \u20ac508mn in March, signalling the faith investors have in AI\u2019s <\/span>promise to reshape pharmaceutical R&D<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span><\/p>\n

3. NEoT \u2014 \u20ac350M  <\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> Paris, France<\/span><\/p>\n

NEoT offers financing solutions for clean transport and off-grid energy projects, like electric buses and solar battery storage. Its \u20ac350mn round is less about flashy tech and more about enabling Europe\u2019s green infrastructure at scale. <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Verdiva Bio \u2014 \u20ac348M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> London, UK <\/span><\/p>\n

Verdiva Bio <\/span>emerged from stealth<\/span><\/a> in January with a whopping <\/span>\u20ac348mn<\/span> for a new range of drugs aimed at tackling the obesity epidemic. It was one of Europe\u2019s largest-ever biotech VC deals, indicating the investor<\/a> appetite for the booming weight loss market. <\/span><\/p>\n

5. XY Miners \u2014 \u20ac254M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> Lewes, UK <\/span><\/p>\n

XY Miners raised \u20ac254mn in a late-stage VC round in April 2025 to expand its cloud-based Bitcoin mining operation. <\/span><\/p>\n

6. Neko Health \u2014 \u20ac250M  <\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ: <\/b>Stockholm<\/span>, Sweden<\/p>\n

Founded by Spotify\u2019s Daniel Ek, Neko Health offers AI-powered <\/span>full-body health scans<\/span><\/a> for early disease detection. Its \u20ac250mn Series B in January was a big vote of confidence in preventative healthcare.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Multiverse Computing \u2014 \u20ac189M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> San Sebasti\u00e1n, Spain<\/span><\/p>\n

Multiverse Computing builds quantum software for sectors like finance and logistics. Thanks to its \u20ac189mn Series B round in June, the company has become one of Europe\u2019s best-funded quantum players.  <\/span><\/p>\n

8. Auro Travel \u2014 \u20ac180M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> Madrid, Spain<\/span><\/p>\n

Auro operates a premium ride-hailing and chauffeur service for businesses \u2014 essentially a high-end Uber for corporate clients. The company raised \u20ac180mn in a late-stage VC round in February 2025, with plans to scale across Southern Europe\u2019s mobility market.<\/span><\/p>\n

9. TravelPerk \u2014 \u20ac170M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> Barcelona, Spain <\/span><\/p>\n

TravelPerk manages bookings, payments, and policies for corporate travel. It brought in \u20ac170mn in a Series E round in January 2025 to expand globally, as business trips continue to bounce back.<\/span><\/p>\n

10. Windward Bio \u2014 \u20ac169M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> Basel, Switzerland<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Windward Bio emerged from stealth in January with \u20ac169mn to develop new treatments for cancer, immune conditions, and rare diseases.  <\/span><\/p>\n

11. Dojo \u2014 \u20ac161M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> London, UK<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Dojo builds payment and business tools for service-focused brands \u2014 think salons, caf\u00e9s, and event spaces. It raised \u20ac161mn in a growth equity round in May 2025, which it hopes will help it compete with players like Square and Stripe.  <\/span><\/p>\n

12. Synthesia \u2014 \u20ac152M<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> London, UK<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Synthesia lets users create AI-generated videos from text for applications such as corporate training and marketing. Its \u20ac152mn round brought it to a \u20ac1.9bn valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n

13. Isar Aerospace \u2014 \u20ac150M<\/b>
<\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ:<\/b> Ottobrunn, Germany<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Isar, which builds small rockets for satellite launches, pulled off Western Europe\u2019s first orbital rocket launch earlier this year. In June, it <\/span>secured a \u20ac150mn convertible loan<\/span><\/a>, taking its total raised to <\/span>north of \u20ac600mn<\/span> \u2014 making it Europe\u2019s best-funded space startup. <\/span><\/p>\n

14. Ori Industries \u2014 \u20ac149M<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/span>Ori builds infrastructure for managing workloads across cloud and edge networks. The \u20ac149mn raise positions it well as edge computing demand heats up. <\/span><\/p>\n

15. Quantum Systems \u2014 \u20ac149M <\/b><\/h3>\n

HQ: <\/b>Gilching, Germany<\/span><\/p>\n

Quantum Systems manufactures electric drones used in defence, mapping, and agriculture. It raised \u20ac149mn in a Series C round in May 2025, becoming Europe\u2019s <\/span>latest defence tech unicorn<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span><\/p>\n

16. Quantexa \u2014 \u20ac148M<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/span> Quantexa uses graph-based AI to spot fraud and financial crime. The company raised \u20ac148mn in a late-stage VC round in January 2025, taking its total funding<\/a> past half a billion euros, as it pushes deeper into sectors such as insurance and defence.<\/span><\/p>\n

17. Solaris \u2014 \u20ac140M<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/span>Azafaros develops small-molecule drugs targeting rare metabolic disorders. The company raised \u20ac132mn in a Series B round in June 2025. <\/span><\/p>\n

20. Proxima Fusion \u2014 \u20ac130M <\/b><\/h3>\n

Proxima Fusion is developing stellarator reactors for nuclear fusion, aiming to create a new source of virtually limitless clean energy. Its \u20ac130mn Series A round, raised in June 2025, is the <\/span>largest round ever raised by a European fusion startup<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The big picture<\/strong><\/h2>\n

So far, 2025 has seen a heavy concentration of funding in AI, biotech, defence, and deep tech \u2014 with startups like Helsing and Proxima Fusion raising record-breaking rounds in their respective fields. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, startups in the UK and Germany dominated the charts. But don\u2019t overlook Spain and France, both of which had multiple startups raising north of \u20ac150mn. <\/span><\/p>\n
