Tech giant Xiaomi is the surprise inclusion in the list.<\/p>\n<p>The blacklist bars US individuals and companies from investing in these firms. This is different from Huawei\u2018s trade ban where Americans were blocked from doing with the tech giant. So, Xiaomi won\u2019t be barred from using Android, Google Play Store, or Qualcomm\u2019s chips.<\/p>\n<p>Under this new ban, the commerce department could also block the import of \u201csensitive technology\u201d from China or any other country.&nbsp; This new order specifies that US investors, such as chipmaker Qualcomm, will have to divest their stake by November 11.<\/p>\n<p>Xiaomi, which became <a href=\"https:\/\/asia.nikkei.com\/Business\/Business-trends\/China-s-Xiaomi-surpasses-Apple-as-world-s-No.-3-smartphone-maker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">the third-largest smartphone manufacturer by surpassing Apple last year<\/a>, won\u2019t have any immediate concerns about supply-chain management or acquiring components for now.
