I spend a lot of hours watching a range of videos on YouTube, and I end up subscribing to a ton of channels. But there\u2019s a problem in my perfect world: I often end up missing videos from new channels I\u2019ve subscribed to, because of a huge influx of videos from older ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thankfully, I\u2019ve found a solution to this problem in the form of PocketTube. It groups your subscriptions into custom collections<\/span>. For example, you can group your music and sports channels into separate collections and check out their latest videos when the mood for each category strikes you.<\/span><\/p>\n

PocketTube is a cross-platform app<\/a>, available for Android, iOS, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. I\u2019ve primarily used the Chrome extension<\/a>, so I\u2019m going to talk a bit about its integration with YouTube on the web.<\/p>\n

Once you install the extension, you can head to YouTube and start adding channels to different groups by clicking the add icon on its page.<\/p>\n

You can also define sub-groups for channels; that\u2019s handy for say, when you want to club channels of certain genres within your \u2018Music\u2019 collection<\/span>. Plus, you can assign custom icons to quickly identify your collections.<\/p>\n

After making your groups, if you head to the subscription page, you could easily search for new videos under specific collections by clicking a few toggles.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to note that there are other tools such as YouTube Collections<\/a>, but PocketTube works for me, and it\u2019s available on multiple platforms.<\/p>\n
