{"id":3221,"date":"2021-02-22T10:09:57","date_gmt":"2021-02-22T10:09:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/?p=1339928"},"modified":"2021-02-22T10:09:57","modified_gmt":"2021-02-22T10:09:57","slug":"porsches-taycan-cross-turismo-ev-isnt-as-confusing-as-it-looks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.londonchiropracter.com\/?p=3221","title":{"rendered":"Porsche\u2019s Taycan Cross Turismo EV isn\u2019t as confusing as it looks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>German automaker Porsche is putting its Taycan Cross Turismo <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.porsche.com\/en\/2021\/products\/porsche-taycan-cross-turismo-all-electric-cross-utility-vehicle-final-shakedown-stefan-weckbach-head-of-taycan-model-line-23644.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">through its paces in final testing<\/a> before it goes on sale next year. It sounds like everything is going well, but one thing is bothering me, well, it\u2019s not one thing, it\u2019s the entire thing.<\/p>\n<p>The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo seems more confused than a chameleon at a carnival.<\/p>\n<p>First off, is its name. The Taycan part makes sense. It\u2019s what Porsche called its high-performance EV, so that needs no explaining. This car is also an EV. I think you\u2019re following.<\/p>\n<p>The Cross Turismo bit, that\u2019s more of a head-scratcher. It seems Porsche is designing this version of the Taycan for light off-roading and for those that want to travel further afield \u2014 that explains the Cross and Turismo part.<\/p>\n<p>Ok, so that\u2019s not totally insane. Especially considering the current Taycan is very much a performance oriented vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>But then we get to how it looks. I can\u2019t quite put my finger on it, so let\u2019s just say that it\u2019s all three. According to Porsche though, it\u2019s a CUV (cross utility vehicle). The company says it\u2019s raised its suspension and even fitted it with a special driving mode for gravel, and so that qualifies it to be classed as some kind of crossover.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever class of vehicle it\u2019s in, it\u2019s still kinda ugly. Despite Porsche being responsible for some of the world\u2019s most iconic designs, the Taycan Cross Turismo doesn\u2019t appear to be one of them\u2026 yet.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XP_vSupcczg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When the German automaker <a href=\"https:\/\/drivetribe.com\/p\/why-i-dont-like-the-porsche-panamera-E7D8oR_OQCi0xzp8qEKKSA?iid=ftZJ05LlS7yNBe8K4LAjyA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">first brought out its Panamera<\/a>, I had to carry a little bucket around with me just in case I saw one and had to throw up. Over time, it\u2019s grown on me to the point I question my former self and consider the Panamera quite the looker.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect the same will be of the Taycan Cross Turismo. We asked experts and animal owners<\/a>]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Things start to make a lot more sense when we move from the exterior to the interior. Sadly, there don\u2019t seem to be any proper interior images, but that\u2019s beside the point. It seems the Cross Turismo is set to remedy that. Now it\u2019s making sense.<\/p>\n<p>The Taycan Cross Turismo,<span>&nbsp;unlike its sibling, is not a hardcore performance focussed&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__highlight\">EV&nbsp;eager to be unleashed on the race track, it\u2019s a&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"c-mrkdwn__highlight\">car <\/span>designed for actual humans that have friends and families, and might occasionally drive on roads that are a bit slippy.<\/p>\n<p>I take it back, the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo isn\u2019t as confusing as it seems on first impressions.
