But here\u2019s another bombshell from the Croatian automaker\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Rimac <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rimac-automobili.com\/media\/press-releases\/rimac-and-bugatti-combine-forces-in-historic-new-venture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> on Monday that it\u2019s taking over the 110-year-old Bugatti brand from Volkswagen to form a joint venture, called Bugatti Rimac. And if that\u2019s not the best match in the automotive world, I don\u2019t know what is. The remaining 45% will be held by Porsche, which means that Volkswagen isn\u2019t folding completely.<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s the Rimac Technology division, an offshoot of the original company, which will focus on the<span>&nbsp;development, production, and supply of battery systems, drivetrains, and other EV components. Rimac\u2019s production will, therefore, remain in Zagreb, Croatia, and Bugatti\u2019s in&nbsp;Molsheim, France.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Bugatti Rimac\u2019s global headquarters will, in time, be situated in the recently announced <a href=\"https:\/\/campus.rimac-automobili.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Rimac Campus<\/a>, which will open in 2023.&nbsp; The campus will serve as the&nbsp;<span>base for all research and development of future Rimac and Bugatti hypercars.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mate Rimac himself, who will run both&nbsp;<span>Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Technology, commented:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"8\">\n<p><span>We have just launched our latest hypercar \u2014 the Nevera \u2014 to universal global acclaim. So I can\u2019t begin to tell you how excited I am by the potential of these two incredible brands combining knowledge, technologies and values to create some truly special projects in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And, well, so are we. Just imagine a super sports car, made with Bugatti\u2019s expertise in design beauty and with Rimac\u2019s high-performance tech.&nbsp;What a hypercar that would be!<\/p>\n<p>But since we\u2019ll have
