What are their charging patterns? And which kind of improvements would they like to see?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look at six things you need to know about.<\/p>\n<h3>1. EV drivers are more environmentally aware<\/h3>\n<p>The biggest motivator for going electric is the environmental benefits, chosen by nearly six out of 10 respondents. They prefer charging on the go<\/h3>\n<p><span>Almost two-thirds (62%) of respondents said their preferred way of charging was using on-street charge points. Most EV owners are registered to more than one charging networks&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Nearly all drivers (94%) have at least one network\u2019s card, while 74% have more than two.<\/p>\n<p>Among those with multiple cards, 97% have a favorite one they use more than the others. There\u2019s rising demand for fast charging <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span>The most desired improvement of respondents is the further development of fast charging infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fast chargers are still mostly found on highways to enable longer journeys, which means that they aren\u2019t a daily feature for many. In fact, less than half of respondents use them once a week, and 13% have never used them.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Once drivers go green, it\u2019s rare to turn back<\/h3>\n<p>The sample shows that the majority of respondents are loyal to EVs, once they\u2019ve tried them. More than three out of 5 drivers expect to purchase a battery electric vehicles as their next car. EVs can change the driving behavior<\/h3>\n<p>Nearly half of drivers say that they\u2019ve started driving more efficiently, with lower speed and gentler acceleration, since switching to an EV. That\u2019s likely to do with range, as gentle driving can better preserve battery life.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, 23% of drivers are taking advantage of the higher torque electric vehicles offer and actually find themselves accelerating faster than they used to. A mere 5% of respondents remark that they haven\u2019t noticed any changes in their driving behavior.<\/p>\n<h3>6. Insiders\u2019 suggestions to boost EV adoption<\/h3>\n<p>Given their overall positive experience with electric driving, EV owners have also shared their own propositions to encourage the transition from conventional vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Ranked from most to least important, they suggest the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved battery range<\/li>\n<li>Better charge point availability<\/li>\n<li>Faster charging<\/li>\n<li>Lower purchase cost<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All in all, the survey\u2019s data shows that it\u2019s the inherent qualities of an EV that matter; sustainability and driving experience are what get people through the door.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 25\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\" readability=\"9\">\n<div class=\"column\" readability=\"13\">\n<p><span>And although governments, car manufacturers, and charging companies are important stakeholders in building EV momentum, <\/span>the reputation of EVs as capable, enjoyable cars is vital to give people the confidence to make the change.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<div class=\"c-richText c-richText--large\" readability=\"31.151832460733\">\n<p><i>Do EVs excite your electrons?
