Simply type \u201cgoogle tuner\u201d into the search box, as noted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidpolice.com\/google-search-has-an-instrument-tuner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Android Police<\/a>. You\u2019re then presented with a chromatic tuner that tells you how close you are to the right pitch. It works on both desktop and mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>There aren\u2019t any fancy bells and whistles like telling you the exact frequency you\u2019re hitting or the ability to tune to specific notes, but for most people, it\u2019ll get the job done.<\/p>\n<p>Now if you ask me, it\u2019s the search query itself that\u2019s a little awkward. I certainly wouldn\u2019t first think to type in \u201cgoogle tuner\u201d if I wanted to tune my guitar. I\u2019d probably type in something like, you know, \u201ctune my guitar\u201d or \u201cguitar tuner\u201d (neither of those currently work). Same for tuning a ukelele, violin, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/results?search_query=carrot+flute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">carrot flute<\/a>, or whathaveyou.<\/p>\n<p>However, the tool only launched recently, so it\u2019s possible the company has not made it available to a wider selection of keywords yet.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also worth noting that the accuracy of the tuning will be will likely depend on the quality of your device\u2019s microphone, as Google can\u2019t calibrate its tuner for every single microphone out there.<\/p>\n<p>But hey, you never know when you\u2019ll need to tune an instrument and don\u2019t have a proper device handy, and I appreciate the simplicity of the tool \u2014 it\u2019s arguably better and faster than downloading an ad-ridden app from an app store.
