I\u2019ll tell you who: <em>losers<\/em>. Because there was only one product worth our attention launched at Apple\u2018s October event. And that, friends, is a motherfucking cleaning cloth.<\/p>\n<p>Shh, don\u2019t get annoyed. I understand you. I know how you live. And that means you\u2019re currently reading these words on a screen smeared with a thick layer of grime. There\u2019s no need to be ashamed \u2014 it\u2019s normal. It\u2019s totally normal. Don\u2019t be ashamed.<\/p>\n<p>But in another, more real sense,&nbsp;<em>be very ashamed.&nbsp;<\/em>You\u2019re a dirty, dirty little gremlin.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t worry though, Apple still loves you despite your faults. Failure to reimburse the company will result in your kidneys being harvested.<\/p>\n<h2>Apple does the right thing, not the easy thing<\/h2>\n<p>On one hand, you could call charging almost $20 for a piece of fabric you can buy elsewhere for a fraction of the price plain old profiteering. On the other, what are you? Some sorta dirty commie or something? What you\u2019re seeing is capitalism in beautiful motion.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I think Apple could do more to keep the wheels of the marketing economy crushing the bones of the poor.<\/p>\n<p>Know those stickers that come with Apple products? Let\u2019s stop that practice immediately. You can sell those things for at least $10. While we\u2019re at it, how about we dispose of those \u201chealth and safety\u201d booklets? If you wanna be danger free, you\u2019ve gotta pay.<\/p>\n<p>If the company really wants to up the ante though, I know how to complement the Apple Polishing Cloth properly: screen cleaner. But not just <em>any<\/em> screen cleaner.<\/p>\n<p>How about Apple gets some of those brainy engineers and scientists to create a display that can only be cleaned with a very specific liquid. Anything else, be that water or alcohol, destroys it entirely.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019d produce what non-economists like myself would call \u201cdouble trouble.\u201d With it, the company not only makes money from selling the cleaning fluid, but also rakes it in with screen repairs.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I think we can all agree that the problem with the Apple cleaning cloth is it just doesn\u2019t go far enough.
