You led \u2014 and it matters \u2014 in drastically improving the climate by reducing hundreds of millions of barrels of oil that will not be used when we\u2019re all electric.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>You can watch his speech on the video below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IXsRcGW7OIo?start=3920\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The thing is, Biden\u2019s comments are a bit of an exaggeration. I mean, GM has pledged to have an all-electric vehicle line-up by 2035, but for now its sales <a href=\"https:\/\/gmauthority.com\/blog\/2021\/10\/gm-sales-figures-numbers-results-united-states-q3-2021\/#:~:text=GM%20sales%20decreased%20by%2033,%2C%20Cadillac%2C%20Chevrolet%20and%20GMC.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">mostly derive from conventional gas-guzzlers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it\u2019s another solely electric automaker that accounts <span>for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autonews.com\/mobility-report\/teslas-commanding-lead-us-evs-illustrated-registration-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">nearly 80% of the EV market in the US<\/a>: Tesla.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And as you might have guessed, Elon Musk doesn\u2019t really like it when his company\u2019s success is snubbed. And this reminder was admittedly a well-delivered blow.<\/p>\n<p>And guess what? Musk\u2019s sister, Tosca Musk, also commented on her mom\u2019s tweet, \u201cWhat mom said. And it feels that Biden\u2019s EV promotion has actually ignored Tesla on purpose.<\/p>\n<h3>Not the first time Tesla\u2019s snubbed<\/h3>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/biden-pushes-for-evs-to-reach-50-in-nationwide-sales-by-2030\">At the White House EV summit in August<\/a>, automakers, the United Autoworkers (UAW), and other leaders officially expressed their support for the Biden administration\u2019s plans for pushing EVs to reach 50% of nationwide sales by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Guess who wasn\u2019t invited: Tesla.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"8.3571428571429\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Will The White House Exclude Tesla, The Most American Made EV, From Its EV Event? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/loRazecbsp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/loRazecbsp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CleanTechnica (@cleantechnica) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cleantechnica\/status\/1423152968644313089?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">August 5, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Why is Tesla being left out?<\/h3>\n<p>When asked about why the automaker was excluded from the summit, White House Secretary Jen Psaki told <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/05\/business\/tesla-snub-white-house-event\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> that it has to do with the fact that the company isn\u2019t unionized.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s a pretty valid reason. Especially since Biden has been seriously <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/democrats-bill-4500-tax-credit-for-union-built-evs-unfair-or-proactive\">pushing for the unionization of the automotive industry<\/a>. A new bill, introduced in August, <span>suggests that consumers can claim an added $4,500 for vehicles assembled at a domestic&nbsp;<\/span><em>unionized<\/em><span>&nbsp;plant.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tesla is highly unlikely to adhere to that. Let\u2019s not forget <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/uk-tesla-union-idUKKCN1IP2XF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Musk\u2019s anti-union battle with the UAW<\/a> regarding the company\u2019s factory in California.<\/p>\n<p>But besides that, there may be a couple more reasons why Biden\u2019s administration is ignoring Tesla in a more targeted way.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>During the initial COVID lockdown, Tesla was the only automaker that opened its California factory ahead of t<span>he agreed-upon May 18 date to which other manufacturers had adhered.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>While Elon Musk has dismissed the idea of hydrogen cars as \u201cmind-bogglingly stupid,\u201d the bipartisan infrastructure bill is also targeting fuel cell technology to enhance decarbonization.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Whichever the reason might be behind Tesla\u2019s exclusion from the electric vehicle promotion, there are at least two conclusions we can make: Biden doesn\u2019t really like Tesla, and the Musk family is together fighting the EV war.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/musk-and-his-mom-go-anti-biden-twitter-rampage-for-ignoring-tesla\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Biden seems to be all about electrifying America and pushing for EV adoption, but there are some people who feel seriously left out: our dear Elon Musk and\u2026 his mom.
