We asked Trinny Woodall how to make it in business as a woman

Posted on December 12, 2022 by admin

Being a woman in business is incredibly tough. On average, it takes them 30% longer than men to achieve the CEO position. They hold under 25% of board room positions. And 42% of women have experienced sexism at work.

These figures are just the tip of the iceberg. From socialization to society-wide prejudice, women are confronted by difficulties at every turn in the startup, tech, and business worlds.

But that doesn’t mean success can’t be found, far from it in fact. There are rafts of women thriving in business — and one of those is Trinny Woodall, the co-founder of Trinny London, a premium beauty and skincare brand.

The heart of tech is coming to the heart of the Mediterranean

We caught up with Woodall at TNW2022 and spoke with her about how to make it in business as a woman. The result was a fast-paced, informative video, which you can watch right here.

Throughout, Woodall discusses the biggest challenges in being a female entrepreneur, the key to a successful business, how to go about building your network, and the secrets of becoming a successful leader.

One topic she discussed was the untapped potential women have for storytelling, structure, and creativity, and how they should take advantage of these talents.

On top of that, Woodall told TNW that women have to remember “how much better [they] are at certain things” than other people. In other words, to be successful, you should play to your strengths, rather than worrying about the attributes you don’t have.

It’s easy to look around a male-dominated environment and find all the ways you fall short. Instead, women should shift their focus back onto their own talents, the skills that no one else in the room possesses. From there, they can use these abilities to help them build and lead a business.
